This year the park in the city of Lilburn will be undergoing several renovations. The park will be getting new restrooms, a new playground, and a new parking area. This park is a community center used daily by walking groups, book clubs, and pet owners. It is also host to a number of local events such as Sparkle in the Park on the 4th of July, the Rock in the Park Concert Series, Food Truck Tuesdays, and much more!
This AJC article mentions the newly approved bathroom renovations. The article states, “The Lilburn City Council recently approved a contract with BM&K, and subcontractors, in an amount not to exceed $777,189 for the construction of a new restroom facility in Lilburn City Park.”
The new facility will feature a total of five toilets, eight urinals and five sinks in the men’s room and 16 toilets and five sinks in the women’s room. Each restroom has a separate ADA compliant restroom as well as a family restroom. This project will be funded 50 percent with SPLOST/Recreation funds and 50 percent with the city’s Capital Projects Fund.
The new design will triple the bathroom capacity and the building will establish the new look of the park, helping the redevelopment to blend in with the surrounding community. We are proud to be a part of the renovations
