“The City of Dunwoody selected BM&K Construction as Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for the renovation of an existing building to serve as the City’s new City Hall. Since incorporation in 2008, the City had leased office space, but in 2016, made the decision to purchase a two-story multi-tenant office building to renovate for a more permanent home. At the time BM&K was brought on board to serve as CMAR, we were face with a tight timeline to complete design and construction. BM&K was certainly up to the challenge, and worked very closely with the design team, City staff and the Program Manager to adhere to an aggressive schedule.
As we learned through this project, retrofitting an existing multi-tenant building to serve one tenant presents several unique challenges. Building systems and finishes in the building were a hodgepodge that has been pieced together over the twenty year life of the building. As we were faced with these circumstances, BM&K was diligent in offering solutions that would be cost effective, durable, and visually appealing. The project was delivered on time and on budget in late 2017. Since moving into the building there have been a few minor items to be addressed under warranty. In each case BM&K has continued to be very responsive and has promptly handled each item.
In summary, as project manager for the City of Dunwoody on the City Hall renovation, O have been highly satisfied with the service and the product provided by BM&K. Given the positive outcome of our City Hall renovation, we recently engaged BM&K to renovate another existing office building owned by the City.”
