A new cornerstone of the Historic District of Braselton, the new parking deck located at the corner of Highway 53 and Davis Street, is complete. This project is the first step towards constructing a new Downtown Civic Center for the city. The deck provides over 270 new spaces on 4 plus levels. Parking at the new deck is free. The intention of the new facility is to provide a central location that gives access to annual events such as the Fourth of July fireworks show and the Toast of Braselton. The long term plan of the facility is to bring more events and visitors to Historic Downtown. The facility was funded through Jackson County SPLOST and Braselton Urban Development Agency bonds. Parking will be free to the public.
The new deck blends the architectural styles of the Historic Braselton Brothers Store and the adjoining Municipal Complex. This design-and-build project posed several challenges: merging multiple tracts, mitigating several environmental issues and accommodating a Regional Windstream tele-communications facility within the limits of the work, among others.
The full scope of services that BM&K provided was the design and build of all construction, civil engineering, and permitting. They also provided site and utility construction services as well as land acquisition services.
Don Clerici, BM&K Owner and Founder, states, “We are proud that we were chosen for the construction of the new downtown Braselton parking deck and look forward to future opportunities to work in the Braselton community.”
